WHAT WE BELIEVE
- We believe that the whole Bible, from Genesis to Revelation, is without error and is the verbally inspired Word of God. (2 Timothy 3:16-17) For reasons of unity and reliability, we use the KJV for all teaching and preaching.
- We believe in one Triune God, the uncreated Maker of heaven and earth, Who eternally exists in three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (Genesis 1:1-2; 2 Corinthians 13:14)
- We believe that Jesus Christ, God’s sinless Son, took on human nature and flesh, was born of the virgin Mary, died as a substitute for sinners, rose from the grave on the third day, and is the only mediator between God and man. (Matthew 1:23; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4; 1 Timothy 2:5; Hebrews 7:25)
- We believe that the Holy Spirit is equal with the Father and the Son, that He regenerates and indwells believers, sealing them unto the day of redemption, and that He guides, sanctifies, and gifts believers for God’s service. (John 14:16-17, 26; Ephesians 1:13-14)
- We believe that God created people to know Him. Humanity fell from that relationship with God by sin, which is rebellion against God. Now, all people possess a sin nature and live under God’s righteous judgment. (Romans 3:10, 6:23)
- We believe that all people are created in the image of God. All human life is to be valued from conception to natural death. Abortion, suicide, murder, and euthanasia are all sinful, unjust endings of lives made in the image of God. Racism is a sinful discrimination against those made in God’s image. (Genesis 1:26)
- We believe that God created people, male and female. Gender is not a social construct, but a fixed biological reality. Marriage is a lifetime commitment between one man and one woman, and all sexual acts are to be limited to the bounds of marriage. This design is rooted in the creation order and is a good gift of God. (Genesis 1:27, 2:18-25)
- We believe that in order to be saved, a person must be born again, that this involves repentance from sin and faith in Jesus Christ, and that the mark of those who truly are regenerate is an ongoing faith in Christ and a growing holiness. Furthermore, this offer of salvation is extended to whosoever will repent and believe the Gospel. (Mark 1:15; John 3:3; 2 Timothy 1:12; John 10:28; Romans 10:9-10; Romans 10:13)
- We believe that every born-again person should profess his or her faith through baptism by immersion in water in connection with a local church. (Romans 6:4-5)
- We believe that a church is an organized, autonomous assembly of baptized believers who regularly meet to worship God, observe the ordinances of Baptism and the Lord’s Supper, disciple the saved, and evangelize the lost. The church lovingly disciplines members who persist in public, unrepentant sin. (Matthew 28:18-20; Ephesians 1:22-23)
- We believe in the certain, physical return of the Lord Jesus, which could take place at any moment. He will judge the wicked, renew the heavens and earth, and eternally dwell with His people. (1 Corinthians 15:51-54, Revelation 20:12, Philippians 2:9-11, Titus 2:13, Revelation 21:1-5)
- We believe that God's primary means of equipping and spiritually feeding His people is through the ministry of the Word. We strive to interpret the Bible in its historical-grammatical and literary sense. (1 Corinthians 2:1-8; Ephesians 4:11-12; 2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Timothy 4:2)
- We believe that our worship should be directed solely unto the Lord. God is the primary audience of our worship. Congregational singing and special music aid each individual’s opportunity to participate in expressing God’s worth to Him. (Psalm 29:2; Psalm 95:1-6; Psalm 150:1-6; John 4:24; Colossians 3:14-17; 1 Corinthians 14:40)
- We believe that we are to show Christlike love, grace, and compassion towards others, especially towards those with whom we disagree. We can show love, grace, and compassion towards others without condoning sin or approving of error. (Matthew 5:43-48; 1 Timothy 3:7; Ephesians 4:32; Jude 22-24)
